TVET Council Continues to Give Back!

On Wednesday, March 9, 2022, the TVET Council (TVETC) Barbados continued its community outreach efforts by donating five (5) boxes of children’s masks to the Arthur Smith Primary School.

The donation was part of ongoing support for the primary school which the TVETC commenced after relocating in 2015 to Balmoral Gap, Hastings, Christ Church from its former 8th Avenue, Belleville, St. Michael address. It was made possible through funds donated by TVETC staff members.

The principal of the school, Wilma McClean, extended her thanks to the TVET Council. The Council's Administrative Officer, Shirleen Inniss added: "We want to thank you (i.e. the staff) for continuing to support collection drives for our community outreach.  Your generosity allowed the Council to make a donation that will assist the Arthur Smith school in its efforts to keep its students safe during the continuing Covid-19 pandemic."

Since moving to its Christ Church location, the Council has made it a priority to be good neighbours, first establishing a relationship with the St. Matthias Church, and later in 2018, establishing a relationship with the primary school, where they provided Christmas gifts for the students.

In October last year, the school was presented with a monetary donation of $550.00, along with vouchers from the Popular Supermarket and in December staff donated a supply of non-perishable items to help support students in need, and their families.
